Does anyone use Large Rats for feeders?
I was thinking about it, and some of my females are well over 3000 grams and look like they could easily slam large rats. Does anyone do this on a routine basis?

I've wondered similar things... I always go by 10% body weight, and for a snake of the size you are talking about that would be a large rat, but I also have heard people never go above a small rat, which is well under 100 g at the shop I go to. I would love to hear opinions on this too!

My 1700g girl is pounding big mediums with no problem and they don't really even cause the little feeding bump in her. :/ I think it really depends on the size of the larges available to you.

I have 2 girls, 2,600 and 2,700 grams, that I normally feed medium rats but have taken large rats on occasion with no issues whatsoever.

Yes...I have a bunch of girls that eat retired breeder rats.

I have two normal girls that are both over 3,000 grams each, and I offer large rats to them weekly when they are feeding regularly. In the winter when they haven't clutched the summer before, they often won't take the large rats, but they pound them during the summer/fall, especially if they've laid that year.
