    Incubator Idea
Was wondering how well a old oven would work as an incubator. I have one sitting in my basement collecting dust. Thinking it would work on the same principle as a fridge. Or would i just be better off doing a cooler since I will only have one clutch (hopefully).

I know my oven doesn't seal shut nearly as tight as my fridge or a cooler, so I think you'd have a very hard time maintaining a consistent temperature.

Oven's don't work well. I know a guy who tried and after all the work and time he went through it still didn't hold a decent temp.

Metal is good for resisting high temps; not good for insulating properties. I suppose you could line the interior with something like sheets of styrofoam, but why bother with that?

The oven door Does have a lock handle that pulls the door in tight to make a better seal. Was really just wondering if it would be worth the hassle.

OK, I will just make a cooler incubator for this year then try and find a fridge for next year.
