    Lesser Pastel vs Pewter
One of my goals this season was to produce pewters, mainly because I want one, but my male cinny is being a jerk and STILL not showing interest, even though I have tried all the tips I have found to get a male in the mood. I've sexed him 6 times over ( ok, not really 6 times ) but I'm 120% sure its a male. Anyway, should I just give up my goal of pewters this year and throw my lesser in with my pastel girl? Which pairing would you do?

If pewters were my end goal I would keep trying the cinny. I thought for a while that my male spotnose wasn't breeding but it turns out he just has no stamina and only locks for about 3-4 hours in the middle of the night so I rarely catch him locking up.

That being said I love both pewters and pastel lessers so if you don't think he's breeding for you I would try to shoot for a split clutch of pewters and pastel lessers.

If you're set on making pewters, then keep trying with the cinny. If you can wait till next year to make your pewter, then go with the lesser.

I've heard of people having two males to one female. Hopefully the cinny will wind up locking soon. If he does, maybe you'll luck out and get a multi-sired clutch.

Wait so the female developes eggs from both males sperm? Like hypothetically if he does that he could end up with pewters AND lesser pastels?

More like if you get lucky on your timing, more than one male can sire a clutch (say, Male 1 sired eggs 1-4, Male 2 sired eggs 5-7). I've seen clutches with 4 or more sires, even.
