    stupidity at its best
i am so p******!!!! i just spent the last 1/2 hr tearing apart the dashboard of a grand am! a few months ago i sold my male BP rex to my cousin. well he couldnt keep him, so he gave him back to me. i was getting him back tonight. well he gets here and i go outside, and i see him leaning into his passenger seat. when i look in the car, i can see that hes holding rexs tail, as rex is crawling up the dashboard of the car! he didnt tie the bag it was in! so we pop the hood and do all this and i finally get him out. hes fine except a few peeled up scales. then, 10min after he leaves i get a call. he didnt close his hood, and while he was going down the road it flew up and smacked his windsheild and shattered it, and now hes blaming me! ugg.

Umm, dont worry about it man, it is not your fault, the fact is he is lookin for someone to blame and you happen to be the easiest one to blame. The car belongs to him, not you, he should have had the presence of mind to remember the hood was not closed all the way.

At least Rex is ok. You can always fix a windshield. If he was the one who opened the hood and forgot to close it, then it's his own fault. Insurance doesn't pay for stupid... Well.. sometimes they do.

well, i heard some raspy breath, but im not worrying about it right away. ther was a period of about 5 seconds where he was in 20º weather, wen i ran from the house 2 tha car, then right in2 a 90º tank. i got his temps upped so. but also, almost all my snakes have raspy breath when im holding them. he has a spot that feels like rubber on his back to...any suiggestions? im sure its just some peeled back scales or gunk from the car though

Yeah, actually I have one suggestion. Invite your cousin over & then slap the ever loving crap out of him!! If he woulda been smart enough to tie the bag Rex was in in the first place, he never woulda had the problems with his hood.

wow, for rex's sake i'm glad to here that he is back in your care. if you need to find him a new home in the future i'm sure there are plenty of people here who could give him a good home--one where you could be sure he wouldn't have the chance to get lost in anymore dashboards. :/

If it were me, (and I haven't seen rex), I might "give him a bath" or just wipe him off with a wet rag a bit. Then I'd probably dab some neospoirin on his scale pieces..don't want him getting an infection of any kind.

As for your cousin, well, good to hear rex is ok.
