    Let me get this straight
The ban, the constrictor rule, is saying that this is ONLY in the U.S? Its stating that there is no more exporting or importing to and from the U.S ONLY? This doesn't mean that people who already own ball pythons will have to give them up or they will be charged.... does it? I am in Canada and i have put my petition out, i am infuriated about this... I would just like some more clarification. Thanks :taz::snake:

This is for U.S. only. Ball Pythons are not on the list, but many other snakes are...

The rule applies to Importation AND interstate movement of the 9 species into U.S only :
    1) Boa constrictor
    2) Burmese python
    3) Reticulated python
    4 & 5 ) North/south African rock python
    6) Green Anaconda
    7) Yellow Anaconda
    8) Deschaunti's Anaconda
    9) Bolivian Anaconda

Its only a matter of time before they start going for the smaller snakes as well....

This is absurd.... Cats running around are more of a problem than a snake in an enclosure..

Why does this bill keep coming back? If its been 4 years, why keep constantly bringing it up...

What stipulations are set for dwarf subspecies and variants? Have full scientific names (eg. Boa constrictor constrictor) been named?

Sent from my phone, to the Internet, to your screen.

Because some people are not happy unless they infringe on the rights of others.

Also, many of them are ignorant to the fact that not all snakes are dangerous.

So what are you supposed to do if you want to move to a new state?

Agreed, or I'll just buy a house somewhere in the country where no one will bother me and my snakes!

    This is because of two reasons primarily;
1). Invasive species biologists (i.e. Rodda and Reed of the U.S. Geologic Survey or USGS) who see and want to secure continued funding, additional grant money or otherwise have a financially vested interest in adding these 9 species to the Injurious listing of the Lacey Act. By listing them as "injurious", they get to be able to continue "studying" the python problem...
    and
2). Radical animal rights groups (such as the Humane society of the United States; H.S.U.S), and some extreme environmental orgs that in essence have an anti animal ownership and use agenda that would like to see an end to keeping reptiles and all other exotic animals. They see it as slavery or exploitation. These orgs use the false arguements of public safety and health and analogies to animal hoarding and other scare tactics to demonize herpetoculture and reptile keeping in the public eye. Although not the initiators of this rule making, they are adament band wagon riders for any sort of legislation or rule making that restricts animal ownership in any way...
