WHat do you look for in a Champagne?
Since the price of female Champagnes is becoming reasonable, I have started to look. I have seen that some have various degrees of ringing, while others have very obvious dorsal markings. I kind of like both, but not sure which is more useful later. Is the ringing or pattern genetic or random? I know the overall pattern is genetic, I mean the delineated markings along the spine, not all of them have it.

I look for the ones that hold their high orange color.

What are the current prices for champagnes in the us?
They are down to around £1600 for a male and £1000 for a female in uk.
