Well...ive just started caoching a 5-6 year old soccer team.

Im not alone, i have two people helping me caoch these guys.

Ive caoched before, but not this age, ive coached 7-8 and 8-9 thats the age i really like to coach becuase they really listen to you, they really want to be there and learn how to play and thier stupid parents arent thier trying to do MY job.

This has only been my second practice and they are already driving me FREAKIN NUTS ! they dont listen, they just goof off with eachother and not pay attention.

I guess i take soccer a little to seriously, i kinda have to remember this age group is just for FUN.

Anybody have any tips for me on how to get these kids to pay attention, usuallyy i would just make em do some laps, but they are so young....help !

Arg.. good luck man. I have enough trouble keeping kids' attentions when I'm holding a baby alligator.

What you need my friend is "Velcro Wall". This handy child disaplinary tool is a must for any parent, coach, or day care worker. It's simple. First you have to install the "wall". We recomend using the soft furry side for the wall. Cover the wall completly. Next, you'll have to size the "child" in question to make sure you have a proper fit for what we like to call the "sticky suit". Hehehe best of luck to ya - I did that for a couple of years. If they get rowdy run them a lap around the field anytime you have to raise your voice. RUnning helps anyway - but they're never fans of it and I remember the prospect of having to "take a lap" always had us toeing the line aeons ago when I was playing as well.

get children harnesses. strap one on the worst of the lot and swing him around by the leash for a couple of minutes or until he/she starts to cry. do it in front of the whole team to set an example and they should stay in line for a good long while. and if the parents find out about it........deny,deny,deny!!!!! lol,jk good luck
