    Boa morph question
Now, for whatever reason, my brain doesn't comprehend boa morphs as easily as ball morphs. Therefore, I have a question. I have a male Kahl strain albino. In the semi-near future, I'd love to get a female for him that will create the possibility of motley coral albinos. I've looked, and I guess there really is no "het coral albino", but if I got a female motley het albino from where one or both parents are coral albinos, would this be possible? Or will I have to get a visual coral albino in order to make them. I'm not even sure if I'm making any sense, but it's worth a shot. :D

I have not put the research into boas that would be necessary to give you an adequate answer, but I believe het coral albinos do exist. in fact I purchased one. it's my only boa, and I don't have any breeding plans, at least for quite some time, but I am curious to know what you find out.

analgous to the ball python albino vs. lavender morphs (which are incompatible), I had thought that there simply several discrete albino strains, coral albino being one of them, but perhaps that was erroneous. if it takes a motley + albino to create a coral albino, I'm more ill-informed than I thought I was.

edit: below is a section on coral albinos from Peter Kahl's website. it would appear that I was generally correct.

''The coral albino boas originated from one of my original hetero bloodlines I produced in 1990 or 1991. When I bred hetero's from this bloodline I noticed several of the babies were much more colorful and had a lavender coral color to them. I kept them back and as they grew there color intensified to almost a coral/lavender body color all over the animal.

In summary, the coral-albino trait produces extra amounts of red and orange pigmentation that shows up along the flanks, saddles and in the red tail patterns. At the same time, most coral-albinos exhibit attractive pink heads and flecks all over the non red areas of the body as well. Like most line bred traits, not all coral-albinos, even in the same litter, will exhibit the same intensity of the coral trait.''

Well from what I've gathered, the coral albino is related to the Kahl strain albino, and they work together. I was hoping for a female motley het coral albino for my male Kahl albino to make baby motley coral albinos...heh

well motley is codominant so if you can lay your hands on a motley het
coral albino female, you should hit the odds given the prolific numbers in boa litters. I am not sure what the outcome would be if you paired your albino to a het coral albino, but last time I checked the breeder's website, the sister to my het coral was still available.

    Re: Boa morph question
Funny story...I was researching that exact pairing earlier today and have had no luck with it as of yet. I will be most pleased if someone can explain the specifics of it and if it would even work. (Worth a try! Lol) But for now I think I'll keep my focus on breeding Sharp Snows. ;)

Basically from what I have gathered the coral is a poly-genetic trait the Kahl line. But here is great write up on it. be sure to read through all the links to coral

It kind is like the pastel lines. even non pastels from a line when breed together can produce great examples of those pastels.

If you did a albino to motley het albino(coral) possible outcomes
    Motley albino(coral)
    Albino(coral)
    Motley het albino(coral)
    Noramal het albino(coral)
