    Crossing enchis with pieds.
I have herd that if you wanted a spider pied that isn't just a spider head and the rest white, you could throw in an enchi and it would bring more of the spider/enchi colors and pattern out in the pied. Is this true? Im having trouble finding info on this topic. I got my info from a breeder but haven't been able to confirm. I think that it this were true there would be more info in it. Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't know that anyone has hatched an enchi/spider/pied combo yet. I do know the first enchi pied produced was low white and everyone assumed they all would be, which is where the idea that adding it to a spider pied would bring the pattern back. I believe someone posted pictures of a high white enchi pied this past season, which kind of throws that whole idea out the window.

Ah. Well I'm going to keep digging because I think a low white spied would be da Bomb. I think spiders and all spider combos are my fav. Six about wobblin tho.

I think that was an Enchi Lesser Pied....and we have also found out that the Lesser Pied is 100% white with zero pattern. The Enchi adding pattern to nearly all white Pied combos has been pretty common thus far. I am going to try my Enchi pos. het Pied male to my Pewter Pied female if he is large enough this season. Pewter Pieds are another morph that could use more pattern. I don't think the idea is out the window.

Theres a video that ma balls made from nerd with kevin talking about it and he shows some examples. The enchi gene does give the pied some more pattern. I don't know if it will bring out the spider pattern more but i know enchi does influence a pattern change in the pied. Look it up on youtube, hopefully you can get your answer from the video.

The video is called "NERD Interview part 2" In case any one is interested. NERD seems to really believe it. I may need to aquire an enchi lol. I want a spied that isn't 95% white. Also NERD mentioned that in multiple gene snakes that have het pied in them, he can pick out the het pieds in a clutch. He didn't really elaborate but he said they are very distinguishable. Now im wondering if maybe other simple recessives would act similarly. Like for example in a Bumblebelly, i wonder if adding a het albino would bring the light colors out more. I guess theres always questions like this when breeding. Thats why this business is so interesting. Lemmie know what you think.

Het pied combos are easy to spot....even if they are only possible hets.

the enchi also brings pattern to the champagne :D

that's why i had to invest in an enchi!!! it just brings out pattern in those patternless snakes :bow:

Lol. I propose that my personal nickname of "The Photoshop Snake" for the enchi morph (because you can see the pixels!) be made official!

It photoshops other morphs! *shot for being silly*

Here is one of 2 Spieds hatched out with pattern.
They hatched 2011, there are no other genes there except Spider/Pied.
    Hatched by C.Nash (UK)

As yet the above is unproven but it's hoping that this line of patterned spieds proves genetic.

Here is a picture of one of my Spieds who is a sister/clutch mate to the above snake.
