Okay my ball python isnt acting like he normally does. I fed him on thursday and after 48 hours hes normally moving around his cage. so i held his nose up to my ear and i heard clicking noises. My cool side is 78, and my warm side is 84. humidity is low right now but it is 38%. Any ideas?

What are you using for heat? UTH? Are you using a thermostat?

Your hot spot is too cool. It needs to be warmer by a minimum of 4 to 5 degrees in that warm end hide. I'm not going to recommend a method because I have no idea what your set up looks like or the ambient temp in your room, etc., etc.

Do not worry about humidity, your main focus should be on getting temps right.

Snakes often make noises - especially when they are being held or messed with - that emanate from the glottis and the nares. These are usually the expulsion of breath due to stress.

Having said that, remember that none of us can hear what your snake sounds like. If you truly suspect that the animal has an RI, then take him to a qualified herp vet for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Well i got a UTH controlled by a hydrofarm and so far got it to 90. hes on aspen bedding with two hides one on each end. i have some moss over the UTH to help with humidity and a water dish. hes in a 10 gallon aquarium with a locking screen lid. I have aluminum foil covering most of the screen lid except for about an inch to hold in heat and humidity.

Some Tstats need to be set higher. I have one of mine set to 98.f to achieve 91-92.f temps. Have you tried setting it higher?
