I've joined the -other- darkside now. Scorpions.
So... I finally got myself a little scorpion to add to the T's :P a little Pandinus imperator that I found on Kijiji.ca literally five minutes away from my house. As you can see by the water bottle cap in his enclosure, he's teenie tiny at the moment, and cute as can be! :)
I've named him (her? not sure yet) Ulfric (yes I'm a Skyrim addict), but I may have to change it if he turns out to be a girl.

Also, I got another T (Lampropelma sp. "Borneo Black") from Tarantula Canada - a.k.a. where all my money seems to go - but it's so little I can't get a good pic of it. As soon as I get one, I shall post it :)

There are what's called Pectines underneath the scorpion, that look like little combs, and the male has more prominent pectines than the female. Take a look at these photos for instance: http://aqua-terra-vita.com/Images/Sc...rScorpions.jpg
I'm pretty sure mine's male, but I'm still a rookie so I could be wrong. It'll be easier when he gets bigger.

Pretty cool, is there a difference in the adults sizes between male and female?

I believe that like a lot of other inverts the males are smaller and more slightly built than the females, who are bigger and chunkier.

Congrats on the new animals and thanks for that info! I have an emperor coming for a friend and I'll use this guide to help him sex it. :D
