    Sperm Plug?
This is my first attempt at breeding and I was wondering would this be an example of an Sperm Plug? It doesn't look like urine and it's surrounded by a white flaky substance! ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!:confused:http://i42.tinypic.com/4se6bm.jpg

Just looks like urates to me.

I read somewhere that sperm plugs really aren't sperm plugs but instead are hemipenes shedding. I can't say either way, i guess I read too much.

That is normal urates yes. And what was stated above is correct. "Sperm Plugs" are really just hemipenile casts. They more look like a booger. Excuse the reference. That's just always what I'm reminded of when I see them.

Urates can come in a variety of colors from white to green, yellow, orangish. Also they can come out jelly-ish and then dry over time. It could be a sign the male was scenting so yes it could be a good sign. But they also expel urates regularly so I wouldn't read in to it.
