    Black Racer Housing
What would you keep a black racer in? Mine's reaching about a year and a half, and he's looking cramped in his tall 20 gallon tank. I'd assume he'd need bigger, but then I just read they like it slightly cramped? I don't have a good measurement, maybe a little over twice the length of the cage.

In my opinion i would provide him with a slightly arboreal enclosure as these guys LOVE to climb, they are also big fans of swiming as well. If its a 20 gal long your talking about i would bump him up to something a tiny bit bigger and provide plenty of branches to climb on, but most Colubrids can live in fairly small tanks like a 20 gal the rest of their lives, it is true that big enclosures CAN cause stress some times, so be careful on the size you choose.

    I was thinking a 30 gallon long.
