    Purple Seahorse
I went to the petstore today to pick up some mice for my BP which happens to be the petstore that I bought my snake from...Anyways got my snake maybe a bit more than a month ago and when I got her there were 3 BP in the tank. So yesterday I had my daughter with me and we were looking at the reptiles and I noticed there was still 1 left.
I feed mine 2 hoppers once a week and I noticed the one there hasnt grown at all...It is the same size as Diablo was when I got her...Meanwhile Diablo has almost doubled in size width wise and probably even a little bit length wise.
Why would that be?? Am I over feeding her??

Pet stores are notorious for not feeding their ball pythons. What does Diablo weigh? It doesn't sound to me like your over feeding at all. Some Bp's will grow faster and bigger than others. Just like people do LOL. It depends on a lot of factors. Sounds like your doing everything right, I would cut back your feedings to every 5 days, and depending on his weight hoppers may be too small for him.

    cheers.

That was on my to do list...Getting a scale, but I havent yet. Next time im at the store I am going to pick one up. So I dont know the weight on her but she downs both hoppers in less than 10 minutes. She is a chunk, probably ready for an adult mouse but I want to get a scale first to make sure:)

Pet stores are also notorious for if they are feeding feeding prey that is much too small. Like pinkies for baby balls. Etc. Unless you are power feeding diablo you aren't over feeding him. Babies can grow in a variety of stages. Some grow fast some hit a growth spurt at a year. Some are just pita's. You are fine.

yeah your fine. :gj: never compare your animals to the animals at petsmart. They are not very good to their reptiles. At least they aren't in Toronto.

Thank You for answers...When I saw the other snake there I was wondering why it hadnt grown at all. It just seemed so small compared to mine.
But when I get a scale and a weight on her it would be great if you could tell me if im feeding her properly or if she should be on adults now...Seeing as im no good at math. LOL.
