    defensive or what?
    I have a female ball

i got as a "rescue." she is around 2200-2500g. When i first got her i was only able to get her to eat asf's. after about two months of that (and nearly all me asf's) i got her onto rats. Yippie! she stayed on the rats for another 3-4 months and then started refusing food once late fall and winter came. i figured she was doing everything right. so i paired her with a male and she FREAKED out. throwing her body at him and being VERY cage defensive. I quickly removed him and left her alone for a while. she stayed off food for another month-2 months. i have not offered a mate however everytime in the last 2 months (minus 1 time) when i offer food she is VERY defensive. she will strike repeatedly but wont kill. the body thrashing has stopped but she wont eat despite her aggressiveness. Just now i offered her a rat (a little smaller than normal in hopes she might take) and she has struck at it probably 5 times and has yet to kill it. im sure she isnt stupid and could kill it if she wanted to but she wont eat it. she sneaks up to it, strikes, and nothing. any advice? offer a bigger male? (my spider was only around 600g) or just let her be? I left her before for 3.5wks without offering food in hopes she would eat and nadda. only one random occurrence she ate and nothing 2mo before or 1mo after.

advice? id like to breed her this year :-/
