I'm on winter break and I left my ball and a spider at home (2 hours away). My roommate was home the first two weeks and was able to change out her water and check temps but she's kinda scared so that's all she did. I left the 16th. I went back on the 23rd/24th and then I cleaned her tank really well and changed out her bedding. She didn't eat and her tummy was super pink so she was about to shed. I left a humidity box in there and she went right in. The moss dries out in less then 2 days so I'm not worried about her being on something wet for too long. My roommate did the water thing again when I left and the last time it was changed was on the 30th. She came down to where I am on the 31st so now my snake is alone. I'm super stressed because I don't know how her shed went. My roommate should go back up this week and will do water agian. I have to go back up on the 9th for errands and then I go home for good on the 15th. Do you guys think she is okay until then or should I go back tomorrow and see how she shed?

Honestly, I never like to leave mine completely alone for more than a few days. Especially if she hasn't eaten, I would go up and check on her if you can and try to feed, but you don't want to feed and run either, I like to be able to check on mine for 24 hours after eating.

I came back to my mom's house for my winter break too, but I said I could only come home if I could bring the snake. It worked. I know some parents are not so obliging, but it's worth a shot. I would say if you aren't going to have her with you, you should check on her AT LEAST once a week and invest in a larger water dish (if you haven't already) to hold her over.

yeah I brought her with me last time and I'm not sure now why I left her. I hate to have her in the car for 2 hours and stress her out and my roommate is there 3 out of the 4 weeks to change her water. I'm not too worried about her eating because she consistently refuses to eat before and after a shed. I've never left her while she's shedding though so I'm worried about the shedding. I'm worried she had a bad shed or if it's a problem for the shed to stay in the tank.

You left on the 16th and are going back on the 15th - Are you not feeding her for a full month? It's only two hours, I would go check myself if there isn't going to be anyone around this week.

No I fed her on the 5th and she ate and then I tried to feed her on the 15th and she didn't eat. I went back on the 23rd and she didn't eat (she really usually doesn't eat for a week before and after she sheds) and then somehow the plan was to go up on the 9th and I would have fed her then. But yeah, that was silly, so I ended up going home. : ). She shed perfect and I offered food because even though she usually doesn't eat after she sheds I figured I would try and she ate. I'm still going on the 9th and I'll try feeding her then too. Sorry lol this was a silly post I was just freaking out last night about it and didn't really sleep!
