    so i feel dumb
After watching a how to video on youtube about sexing ur snake i def found out my two year old "male" ball python named blitz is actually a 2 yr old female ball python. So what do u guys think can i keep the name or do i have to rename.

    The Serpent Merchant
I did the same thing with my normal (Zef) thought she was a boy at first. I decided to keep the name but that's just because the new name I came up with didn't stick lol.

If it's the first time you've popped a snake don't be so fast to assume you have accurate results. Wait a week and do it again.

Did you try to pop it or probe it?
If this was your first time trying to pop (especially with an adult bp), you may not have done it with enough pressure and the hemipenes may have not come out.
If you probed it, and it proved female.... it's possibly a female and congrats!
I would look for someone experienced to sex it for you and also to show you exactly what to do in person.

Snakes won't care what you call them :P.. My first snake I named Dameon.. because I was told it was a male, and I have always loved that name.. well.. a few years later, I got more ball pythons, and decided to try breeding so learned how to probe etc.. yup.. Dameon is a girl.. as is Prometheus.. lol

They are still Dameon and Prometheus.. no complexes.. and they still make awesome babies :P

:P My first BP was sold to me as male. She was probed and is DEFINITELY a female.

I kept her name - Prince Oberyn.
When I bought her a mate, I named him Princess Pandemonium.

They don't care what you call them. They don't get complexes.

And on top of that, you may just want to wait a week or two and try again. You may be able to find a locally owned petstore with someone who is comfortable probing snakes, or they might know who can do it. I know my reptile vet does it if you come in for a normal checkup or whatnot.
