Do Kenyan Sand Boa's fast normally like a Ball does ?

Ok, so we ended up with a lovely female sand boa someone didn't want anymore.

She is around 3 years old, best guess. She has eaten very well for us, gained quite a bit of healthy weight {she was really skinny } and seems happy.

However, about a month ago she stopped eating. She'll kill her prey, then leave it. She did this for four weeks. Last week she wouldn't even hunt her mouse.

I know it is quite common for Ball Pythons to fast at this time of year because of the breeding season, do sand boa's do this as well ? She doesn't appear to be loosing weight yet, but I'm worried about her. She is so much smaller than a ball, I'm scared this is a sign of something more serious.

how big is she and how much does she weigh?

Well, perhaps it is a male.

I am only going off what her former owners said. She is around 18 inches long I would guess, and she weighs 226 grams.

She's still got very good muscle tone.

I would double check your temperatures. When I had feeding problems with my sand boa that was the cause.

My male does for a month or too around this time of year but just ate last feeding

check online for photos of the tails...males and females can be visually sexed. If they had an underweight snake, they were probably not too keen on the truth of it was a male or female. Also they may not have the age right...but i think females do get bigger than that length. ALso, as long as the snake is well fed, and not freaking out or trying to get out or acting weird in any other way...it may just not be hungry...which is a compliment! :) But i would totally worry and be on here too, so it's easy for me to say hehe
