    Probing Ointments/Lubricants
What are any of the ointments or lubricants you can use to probe your snake? I ask this since I hear so many mixed responses as it what is good to use and not good. For example, some people use Vaseline and others think it's problematic because of the oils. I also hear some people use regular Neosporin, and that KY jelly is one of the best to use.

So post any and all ointments or lubricants that are good and not good!

KY, or any other water based lubricant. Don't have anything against vaseline, but have a lot of success with the ky. Just be careful you dont get the "enhanced" ones that heat up or anything like that. You gotta figure it like this (excuse the crudeness), use what you would feel comfortable using on a human for internal use. KY is made specifically for internal use...

I have used Vaseline as well and found it to work fine.

I really want to give KY a try as I've always heard positive things. Thanks for the tip about the "enhanced" ones too :gj:.

I use the store brand of the KY. Works well.

Your best bet is something water based like KY

I'd use spit before I'd use a petroleum product like Vaseline. I prefer KY Jelly or any cheap, available, water-based lube.

How about plain oils, like olive oil?
