    Need to slow down production!
What will happen to my colony if I feed off the male? Will the females continue to nurse? I have another 1.4 that I just put together, and that will give me some time to use up what I have. I have at least 30 hopper-young adults and someone just traded me 15 more. It's getting out of control.

Also has anyone tried an air filter for the smell (the kind they use in hydroponics has been reccomended) but they are kind of pricey?

    Thanks & Happy Holidays!

Rodent smell isn't something that can be beaten. :P
Burn some nice candles or something, but there's not much you can do aside from making an air circulation system, which doesn't solve it either!

Feeding off the male shouldn't effect your colony much.

Female mice don't need a male to nurse their litters long enough to wean them. They only need him to get pregnant.

http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...r-for-about-25 I've tried this and while it doesn't eliminate the mouse stink, it does cut it down. Some people put a drop of real vanilla extract in the water bottles and say it works. Never tried it--I've got better uses for real vanilla extract.

Not that your advice isn't helpful, but this is about ASFs, not mice. :P

Haha, it's cool since it works the same way for both species! :)

I use a shot of Apple Cider Vinegar in a 5 gallon bucket of water....seems to help a LITTLE bit with the smell.....when I had a ASFs, I never really noticed a urine smell with them.....maybe it is/was just me though.....

My friend puts a can of used coffee grounds with no lid on, in her pet room. She says it helps, I have no idea!
