    Inflamed Cloaca
Every time my new RTB (about 2 feet long) defecates, her cloaca is very inflamed for a few days before subsiding, I have noticed. Found a new excretion today and now her cloaca is all red and sort of sticking out and looks very painful. Looks like instead of her cloaca there, she just kind of ripped her scales apart.

    Is this normal at all??

Any way you can get pictures of this? It sounds like a possible prolapse....

This is a picture I took the first time I noticed it, which was after she defecated the first time since owning her. I never posted it on here because I got busy, and then it went away in a few days.

However, it's a bit bigger and redder this time. Feeding night, and thawing the mice now, so I don't want to hold her before feeding or I'd take a picture of it this second time.

While I'm at it, she just ate a damn thin piece of the reptile bark bedding......

I'm sorry but that picture isn't clear enough to determine anything. I'd say a vet trip is in order, just from what you described.

I agree. It does sound like a possible prolapse, but the pics aren't clear enough to tell. A vet trip is definitely in order...
