Ga. exotic animal laws

I am going to be transferring to Georgia in the next year or so. I am trying to find out their laws on owning exotic cats. Specifically servals, and savannahs. The savannah is a F3. Any help or info would be great.

Mr. spooky's links are your best reference online :gj:, but you may want to call GA DNR rather than asking questions on a forum.
I am going to pretty well assume they will tell you "no," but sometimes they can also tell you how you can attain a permit that may apply... unfortunately for this case I believe they may tell you that you have to be a registered zoo or something else out of your reach.
I have posted before on this site that calling (and actively calling, not emailing!!) DNR gets best results. Short of once again posting my experience why this is true, just trust me, a phone call can make a world of difference. Unfortunately I have no experience in cats and the legalities surrounding them (i'm a herp kinda guy, not exotic cats), but am still thinking that's one that GA won't have as many options for. I am actually thinking they won't have any options for you, but in any case, Best of luck!

Dont put to much thought into born free website there information on south carolina is completely wrong. Just call the local fish and game and they can sit down and tell you everything legal and illegal

iv done that too.. its a no go.. but i do encourage the OP to try.. from what iv found out (here in Ga) is that one DNR officer will tell you one thing, and another DNR officer will tell you another. they dont know every law, so they will tell you what they think.. georgia DNR is under paid, and under staffed.
