How long has your adult bp gone on food strike for?
Just curious. I have heard people talk about problem feeders, or say they will go on food strike during breeding season. So how long has anyone's gone on strike for? I don't know how to put up a poll, so if someone else does and wants to, please join in! :)

The longest one I've had so far is nine months. She was too small to breed at the time of the strike. Then one day, she started eating again and hasn't done it again ---- yet.

Close to 9 months. He started at about 1100 grams and lost 150by the end. I offered every week at first, then every few weeks, the last 4 months or so, maybe once a month. Then one day he was hungry :)

P.s. i checked temps etc obsessively and monitored his weight

I have a big, 3000+ gram female went 8 months. Then she started again, but she is still kinda picky. Hasnt lost any weight and I am pairing her for the first time this season, I cant wait to see how many eggs she lays.

My pastel has eaten 1 time in the last 11mos. She started her fast at 1100g and is down to 930g. We have offered food bi-weekly and she shows no interest in anything! No mice, no rats, not even ASFs. We've offered live, p/k, f/t, in the morning, in the evening, in the middle of the night and nothing!

I had one male normal go 10 months without eating. I tried everything from f/t mice and rats, live mice & rats, live ASF - he simply would not eat and then one day he decided he liked little tiny mice and would gobble 4 at one feeding. He lost very little weight throughout the whole fasting time.

My three 1500 gm females have been off feed since the first week of December.

Darthie started around the same time but his innate greed only allowed him to stick it out for a couple of weeks.

    One year 2 months.
Male cooled for breeding, bred through season and just would not eat. Not cooled following year but still he wanted to breed, gave him a female and after he finished he ate and has never refused since.
