shes wrapping the bowl

I have a virgin 1480 gram virgin Het Albino female. A couple months ago she was wrapping the bowl and I figured I missed my chance to breed her. Well tonight I caught her wrapped around the bowl again. Now here comes my issue. I have a male het albino thats ready to go. I also have an Albino male sitting at 298 grams. Should I wait to see if my Albino gets plugs, start my het with him or something else?

I would wait for the albino to gain some more weight. Its not the end of the breeding season and some people start breeding in january or later (I think the guy from NERD said that he starts his breeding season January or mid January). 298g doesnt seem the healthy weight and although it could breed, you also have to think about if it goes off feed and such. It depends on what you want. IF you want more albinos I would go with the Albino male because you will have 50% chance of Albinos statistically, but get it up at least 380-400gs with good girth (the breeder from Constrictor King breeds his males at 400g +). IF you dont care about the odds and just want to breed than go ahead with the 25% chance of albinos. Who knows, the odd gods could be with you and beat the odds of 25% and have more than 2 albinos in a clutch. But weight is important, but also the girth of the snake. If she is 1480grams and is pretty fat than I would breed her, but if she is a bit skinny I would just get her to 1500 grams at least. Good Luck.

I want to point out that I wouldnt consider breeding him until hes at a healthy weight. I just dont want to miss my chance to get eggs from her ya know

Breeding is less about season and more about when the female is ready. If she's showing you signs, I would put your het male in with her on rotation until the albino is ready. If the albino goes off feed, it could be months before he matures and grows enough to breed. Personally, I won't breed a male before ~700g, regardless of what others have had success with - any younger just seems too risky for the snake.

You need to check for follicles...If she has them you need to get a male in with
her ASAP...If not you have time to wait for the 2nd male.

So wrapping the bowl is a sign she may be ready to breed? I thought it was a sign of her ready to lay eggs.
