I think it's pretty good, it has gone down in size in the past few years, but there are still a full room of venders with a good variety. I attend regularly.

I really like it for a few reasons, 1 being that rodent pro attends and I don't have to pay for shipping that way. I have been driving up from Cincinnati a few times a year for a few years now. This past show on December 17 had a lot of really nice ball pythons, more than the usual that I see there.

Honestly I don't think it's worth a 5 hour trip, you can look at everything in 30 mins. Depending on what way your traveling, there's a monthly show just north of Cincinnati by kings island. Would save you a couple hours if your coming from the south but depending on the month there's not as much variety as Columbus. Hope this helps

I live about 10 minutes from the show. Honestly, I wouldn't drive that far to see it unless I really, really, really needed something that I couldn't get any other place. I skipped it myself this past show because my rats are breeding like....rats, and I didn't need to pick up any feeders.

Good things are that if you need f/t Rodent Pro is there all the time. If you need live feeders get there early because they sell out quick. (psst--the guy against the far back wall usually has good prices for small ball python sized live rats) The snake selection varies. I have bought exactly one snake at the show, and that was Darth Jackass and because I felt sorry for him. You see the good, the bad, and the ugly, just like I figure that you do at about any reptile show. But I have seen some nice looking ball pythons there.

Bad thing is that it is kinda small. The aisles are too narrow for a good flow of foot traffic. A lot of the stuff is the same heating pads, bowls, etc, that you could pick up at one of the chain stores and they aren't cheap enough to justify driving five hours to pick up.

I picked up my first morph at the Ohio Reptile Show back in 09 and while I haven't gone since then, it was pretty cool to see all the other hobbyists.

But for a 5 hour drive I'd skip it.

Not sure it is worth a 5 be drive.. I drive AK hour, and I really like going, but, it is only open for six hours... 10-3... They do have a lot of nice animals though, and great deals on crickets.. also rodent pro is always there, so is you need frozen feeders, of may be worth the drive just to save on shipping of you need feeders... I will he there, getting my female albino. :):)

We are there pretty much every month and its a good show but a 5 hour drive may be too much. But here's an idea, if you want to see the Columbus show pm us and let us know and we can give you a couple ideas of some pretty cool stuff to do in the area as well as a couple really great little local restaurants that are definitely worth stopping at. That way you can make a pretty fun day of it. Also, if there is anything specific you are looking for I can make some phone calls and see if I can find it from one of the locals I know to be reputable and maybe up your odds of finding what you're looking for.

    Hope this helps!

There is also the Taylor Michigan Reptile show every month. It isn't the best show but it isn't horrible either. It also isn't anywhere near a 5 hour drive. With that distance you may as well wait until tinley park and go there.
