    trade?
What do you guys think? i have a male mojave, male black pastel, and 2 female normals. Would it be a good trade for a pair of yellowbellys ready to breed next season and either a lemon pastel or a spider? Good deal or no?

I would say so as long as they are healthy.

How big are yours? How big are the yellow bellies? How big is the lemon pastel or spider and are they male or female? Are you certain that you will be getting yellow bellies and not normals? How nice is the lemon pastel or spider?

These are important questions and depend on what you want to do in terms of breeding. With the yellow bellies you have a chance at Ivories, but you could work on a long term project of BELs and Super Black Pastels with what you are considering trading. In the end if they are good examples of their morph I would probably consider the trade if the lemon pastel or spider is female.

mine are still just hatchlings. His yellows are around 300 grams. And the lemon and spider are both males. Im more interested in the lemon so id take that over the spider

It seems like a pretty even trade, but you are giving up two female and only getting one in return. You are also banking a lot on the yellow bellies eating consistently until the next breeding season.

yea that is true. the normal females are also wild caught so theres a possibilty of other genes in them. i was planning on trying for black bees and black pewters.

If you have breeding plans that involve the black pastel gene then I wouldn't trade your black pastel male. It's also rare these days to get something new from imports because the big breeders have connections and people know what to look for on both sides.

It doesn't really seem like this trade would further your breeding plans, so you might be better off passing on this one.

I got my lemon pastel from NERD but she cost a lot. If you really like the lemon pastel you could see if they will trade you the lemon pastel for your mojave, he doesn't seem to fit into your breeding plans.

So he ended up just selling me the lemon and spider pretty cheap. Is the lemon the same as pastel just brighter yellow? What could i breed it with and what would i get from it?
