Carpet Cleaning, is it bad for your bp?
I have heard that carpet cleaning can be desaster for your pet snakes. Is this true? I need to clean my carpet and my viv's are too hard for me to move, plus I have no where to put them while cleaning. If it is true then what causes the problem? Is it the noise that freaks them out or is it the chemicals in the shampoo?

Noise shouldn't freak them out that much. The vibrations may stress them, but it's nothing that they can't recover in a few days from. I would be vary of letting them loose on the carpet for at least 2-3 weeks after cleaning, though. Some shampoos may contain chlorine and ammonia radicals, which may act as skin irritants to your snakes, along with damaging their sense of taste. You may ask the cleaners what type of shampoo they use and do some research on that before deciding what to do. I know that some snakes are sensitive, so I personally would not take the risk without extensive research and precautions.

I just ran into that. I cleaned mine two days before my snakes got to the house and no problems so far, but its a very mild soap and VERY diluted.
