My miracle puppy!

Last December I had a litter of American Bulldog pups. Diva was the last puppy born of 10. She was not breathing. I worked on her for about 20 minutes and was able to clear her lungs. Momma thought that something was wrong with her and would not take her back. I had been up for 48 hrs straight delivering pups and was exhausted. Diva got put in a snake tub and placed on my rack!

I was Diva’s mom for the next 6 weeks feeding her every 3 hours. We formed an incredible bond. I ended up keeping her. She has wild ears and will never make a conformation champ like her mom. If I did not have a privacy fence around my back yard, I would swear that the mail man’s dog was her dad. LOL. Looks are only skin deep, and her personality is to die for. She has earned a permanent spot in my heart. She still thinks that I’m her mom and her favorite spot in the house is my office, next to the snake rack that she grew up in.

I think she's gorgeous. Even though she's an American bulldog, she reminds me a lot of the pitbulls that were around when I was a kid, before everyone jumped on the "extreme" wagon.

She does resemble a pit. I don't know where she came from. All of her brothers and sisters looked like the mom or dad. She was the only different looking pup. I thought that maybe her growth was stunted because of the formula, but she never got that bully look to her. She got her mommas long snout and her daddys underbite. LOL She just turned 1. She might fill out and fool me a little. She still has a very small head. They mixed pits a lot with Ab's way back when. She just might be that 1 in a million that popped up:)

Her mom is beautiful! How much do your dogs usually weigh? You wouldn't think her half sister and her were related at all just by looks would you? My newest rescue girl (pit mix) looks more bulldoggy than my other two, she's got a shorter muzzle, she's bigger, not as thick as your dogs though but she's got me kind of interested in Am. Bulldogs, her big noggin and underbite have grown on me.

Ripley is beautiful! There are 2 different types of American Bulldogs. The Scott or Standard type was bred to be a working dog and the Johnson or Bully Type that was bred to be a guard dog. Acelin (Diva's mom) Is a Standard type. She has a longer snout and a scissor bite. Daily (Divas Dad) is a Bully type. He has a shorter snout with an under bite. Diva is a hybrid because she is a mix between the 2. Baby D (diva's 1/2 sister) is also a hybrid, but she resembles the Bully type.

Acelin is 115 lbs
Daily is 95 lbs
Baby D is 90lbs
Diva (The pup) is my runt. She will probably end up around 70-80 lbs.

Not all AB's are as large as my guys. I breed for size. I like a big dog. You can find a full history of the breed at www.dailybulldogs.com.
