when to switch to next size

I know the general rule of thumb of feeding a rodent the size of the width of the BP's thickest section, but I want to hear from people who have raised hatchlings to adulthood and maybe kept some kind of general records as to about what weight the baby snake started taking the next size rodent.

I plan on buying a bulk order of rodents from the show that's coming up, and I plan to buy enough for a few months, and I just want to get a general (not exact - i know they grow at THEIR rate) sense of how many of what rodents to buy

IMO it really varies...and it's almost an impossible question to answer. It also depends on how many snakes you have. I personally don't usually buy more than 80 of one type of prey...not really sure why to be honest. I usually switch to a larger prey item if I notice they are getting hungry earlier than normal and when they eat and there's no lump at all.

I agree. The thing is, having extra isn't a bad thing =p.

I mean like.. at around 500 g, the snake should probably be taking like small rats or something = just an example. i have 2 that are over 600 g, and both eat small rats no problem. that's the kindof guesstimate i'm asking for :gj:
