advice about feeding female in breeding season
    hi guys
    here's the story

i have a female spider about 1600gr and pastel male about 1200gr
last month i have mix them them together,in purpose to breed, and i have seen lock 3 times in:

and then the second is in 11 december 2011 no picture
and the third is in 15 december

i feed the males just like ordinary meal i gave him,i give him 150-200gr rat

    my question is:
how about feeding the female in the breeding season?she usually eat 200-250gr rat in 10-15 days, should i reduce the size of the rat?what is the correct size for my female?and what might happen if i just feed her with regular size(200-250gr)

thanks all, this is my first time for breeding snake,i hope it will be succes with some help from all of you:):):):)

I continue to feed my breeders all year if they want to eat. I don't usually reduce the size of food item, but I do feed less often. This gives them more time to digest and rest. For what it's worth, I don't reduce the temps anymore. this maintains the heat needed for digestion.

in my mind, iif i feed the female with big food item, than it will press the egg or something

Thanks axeman i will continue feed her like i usually do

I hope this first time breeding will be succesful:)

I feed them all they want to eat in Sept/Oct/Nov smaller meals usually 2-3 times a week.
In December they go back to their normal once a week 80-100 gram rats.

I try to never feed any of my breeders larger than 150 gram rats and typically stick to 80-100 gram rats even for 3000 gram females.

My larger males get once a week 50-75 gram rats and smaller males get 40-50 gram rats once a week.

I've found it easier to keep males and females on feed during breeding season with smaller prey items :gj:

I guess I should have spelled out I never feed larger than a medium rat to the females and smalls to the males. In my experience they will stop eating once they ovulate. No worries about pressing on the eggs.

I'll try to reduce a bit,may be 200-250gr is too big for her,may be 100-150gr would be better:)
    Thank u
