What is this boa.

Buying a snake rack and a boa on saturday. Wondering if this pic is jus a normal BCI or something else?

Looks like a nice BCI to me. I'm loving that rectangular tail pattern. :gj:

The dude who is selling it to me that he bought a pair of columbians 66% het snow online and they proved for him. this is one of the normals. The saddles seem to peak a bit and i've been searching and some bccs have square marks like that. Jus wondering because bccs arent columbians right?

I'm no boa expert, but that snake's got a few things going on in coloration/pattern that make me question it as a typical BCI. The saddles, the bit of the tail I can see, the peppering of black scales.. *shrugs*

He does look a little atypical from the everyday BCI.

i will get more pics of him this weekend. He looks cool in the pic. hope he is as cool in person.

If he's from a litter that produced snow, there are 2 things possibly going on here. He could be het anery and he could be het albino, or both. I have noticed that het anerys seem to have a sort of "marker" in their color/pattern. They may not be actual anerythristic snakes, but they may have more peppering in the scales and general darker coloration if they carry the gene. Does this mean he is het anery? Not unless you know for a fact that one parent was also anery. Otherwise, that could only be proven by breeding him. But it's a thought. The albino hets don't seem to have any specific marker.

The peaks you see do not mean he's a BCC. BCCs usually have stronger peaks than BCIs, but that does not mean a BCI cannot have peaks at all. And you generally won't find snow or het snows in BCCs. Usually BCC breeders try to keep their lines pure.

I see a very nice normal BCI with some unusual squarish tail saddles which make him unique. He could be het albino, het anery, or het for both which would make him het snow. No matter what, he'll be a nice pickup!

Nice looking boa! He looks kind of like a circle back ladder tail with BCC influence, this boa screams BCI x BCC. Sorry but BCI boas don't have peaked saddles unless there is some BCC influence, pure BCI don't have peaked saddles! :cool:

Well, sorry, I didn't say he couldn't have BCC influence - just that he wasn't likely to be pure BCC. But I see how I wasn't clear on that. I'm recovering from the flu right now and I guess my brain is still somewhat shortcircuted.... :P

The pattern is similar to what Ive seen in some motleys
