Tub Question (Boring, I know)

I was planning on buying a brand new tub to keep my BP in (when I finally get the bugger), but I just realized. I have a 20 Qt (19L) Sterilite tub (actually I have two) just sitting around holding ramen packages. It's 16.5" x 11.5" x 9.75" (41.9cm x 29.2cm x 24.8cm). Should I look for something bigger or shallower, or will this work? It just seems silly to go out and spend $10 or more a new tub when I have one I can use. I can take pictures of the tub if anybody wants them. (I still have the lid as well so I don't have to make a new top.)

I think that should work. Someone with more experience can chime in and correct me if I'm wrong. The 9.75" is the height? I heard you don't need a very deep tub. Mine is only about 6" deep and it seems to do fine.

I suppose the overall length and width would depend on your snake size. A small to medium sized snake should be good in the tub you mentioned. (Again, correct me I'm wrong).

Make sure you have clips or something to secure the lid. In the stickies of the husbandry section you have vypyrz tutorial on how to make that tub set up. I used it, and it is magnificent. I believe he gives you facts on tub size too! Good luck!

9.75" is the width - I'm assuming at the bottom of the tub.

I actually have the tub tutorial bookmarked. I don't have anything else I need yet, so I can't really put my hides and stuff in there to see how it works. It's probably not wide enough, but it's really tall. :/ Which is why I'm not sure if it's wide enough.

Hmmm...if it were me I'd get another tub. I know that's probably not what you want to hear, but its my opinion.

I was planning on buying a new tub before I realized I have the one I have, so it doesn't bother me any. I was just thinking of reusing it because the tub is going to be empty very soon and it's just taking up space if it's empty.

You can get tubs at wal mart for less than 5 bucks. Get something shallower 9 inches is way too tall and just excessive. BP's spend all their time on the ground they don't need anything taller then about 6 inches even up until adulthood (something too big, especially when they are young, will just stress them out).
