Freshly Shed Dumeril's Boa
My Dumeril's Boa (recently named Helena) just shed last night. It was the first time I've gotten to watch it take place in person. It would have been a complete shed if she hadn't shed part of her tail first. Her head wasn't even started and I realized that after I pulled her out. I put her back in her cage and she started rubbing her head against the side and started the shed for the rest of her body. :D

She will most likely be between 5-7ft full grown. She's currently in a Zilla 30 Breeder, but I will eventually put her in a 4X2 or 6X2 enclosure. :)
They're a super friendly species of boa and even though she isn't used to human contact she's generally okay with being handled. She's a little flighty right now though. :)

BTW I love your new Pewter!
Thanks! :D
And nope, no musk this time, but I didn't handle her for long. :P

She's gorgeous! My little Dum just shed last week, ate a couple days ago, and I finally got to hold her tonight! She too is rather flighty. Every time I touch her she jerks. Until she settled in around my neck to watch tv. Then she was fine. I don't know the extent of her handling so I'm still figuring that out. But glad to hear no musk this time! :) I love the intricate color patterns on these snakes.
