Oklahoma City Reptile Expo
So I went to the expo today and I was so disappointed. It was a really small room and when I got there, I noticed that it was about half full. There were only 6...that's right 6 ball pythons there!!!!!!! Everything else was burms/tics which I'm not ready for. Does anybody l ow a good expo that might be close to southern Oklahoma?
Re: Oklahoma City Reptile Expo
Yeah that Oklahoma city reptile show is a waste of time..... I went a few years back (I drove 6 hours makes it even more dissapointing) Anyway, in febuary every year there is the NARBC in Dallas that is a great show and alot of animals... There is not alot reptile show wise in oklahoma, especially ones that are worth going to.
Re: Oklahoma City Reptile Expo
Hey joe srry you came on Sunday and not Saturday. Saturday was extreamly busy and 3 vendors sold 100% of what they brought for a total of 5 tables that did not return on Sunday. On Saturday the room was 100% full with vendors. There were not a lot of balls there but there was a selection of them. I know chris at the front of the room had several and I had albinos, fires, and normals. This show was at the end of the year and most breeders including myself were sold out. I doubt ill be doing another december show because of this. You should give the big snakes a try some day. The show size has not changed in 2 years now. We had to cut the size due to the cost of the room. We still fill 50-60 tables of quality every show with vendors from texas, kansas, oklahoma, arkansas, missouri, and more . I don’t allow wild caught wholesalers in to the show due to the high mortality rates so this hurts the selection some. We are trying to change locations for 2012 but wont know that for a few more months. Theres just not enough buyers in the oklahoma area to allow us to continue with the show like it was when we started. We had 140 tabels filled the 1st year but the costs are rediculous.
JJ if you’re the one I think you are you left with dozens and dozens of animals. Couldn’t have been real bad. Probably not worth a 6 hr drive though. NARBC is a great show if you want to go look. Hotels double, entry double, have to pay to park, and prices are 2-3 times higher than other shows.
Repticon moving into dallas area. That should be a show to go to.
