    Probing depth
I have a "male" butter BP that probes 5-6 scales, and I tried popping him, and only got two little nubs that did not appear to be hemipenes. My female het pied probes at 4-5 scales and my male het pied probes at 8-9 scales. I have successfully popped my het pied male numerous times, but I can't get the same results with the butter. Is it possible that "he"'s not well endowed, or is my male a female?

Also, the butter is about 350 grams. If I put him in with my het pied male, would they fight? Could this resolve the gender issue?

At that size, if I put him in with a female, is it possible they would lock up? Could that solve this issue too?

Males don't always fight with other males, and sometimes males will lock with each other, so neither of those things would solve the issue.

Oh, just reread your post. Males being "not well endowed" isn't an issue with snakes. It sounds like there's a good chance it's a female.

Thanks for your reply. :) It's too bad that I'm not in need of a female butter. I'm hoping that once it gains some size I'll be able to pop it better. I'm terrible at popping smaller ones.

Well I just popped my cinnamon female, and she looks exactly the same as the butter. So I'm fairly certain that Henry is a Henrietta. Thanks for the help.
