Toe :)
Last week I saw an ad on the infamous Craigslist that I have seen a few times before, and decided to respond. The woman was selling a leopard gecko with the set-up for like $50. I messaged her and told her about my collection, job, etc, and told her I have seen her ad a few times. I told her if she couldn't find a decent person to sell this "girl" to, that I could provide "her" a very good home, but being so close to Christmas I really can't justify buying another animal, but if she'd waive the fee she was asking I would gladly take "her" in.
A few days later she responded and said someone was picking her up, so I let it go. She messaged me the next day saying it fell through, and she'd really like me to come get "her". I grabbed "her" today, and "her" name is Toe. Not sure why, but it kinda fits, but I think "she" is a he lol. Anyone know how to sex a leopard gecko?
Here's Toe...he's actually too fat IMO, he looks like a little sausage compared to my girl.

He's very cute, and seems docile enough but more skittish than my girl. He's nice and cozy in QT :)

his tail is really fat! i have one with a regenerated tail too, they're so funny!
i don't think he's too fat, is he missing a digit on the left hind leg, though? if so, be very careful around shed time. definitely keep a humid box in there and check over the toes once shedding is complete.
sorry, she/whatever it is, lol. sexing leo's is pretty easy.
(not my images, i pulled them up from this site, lizzyleopardgecko.com)

Okay I did take a look under his undercarriage  I'm thinking he's definitely a boy. How can you tell his tail is regenerated??

It looks smooth and not like a normal leopard gecko tail! :)

See how it's kinda..lumpy? :D

Yeah! That's why I thought he was "fat" because his tail looks so squished like a sausage and not "lumpy" like my girls tail. How funny, that's good to know! Thanks for the info :D
-
Yeah, even an overweight gecko will still have those lumps! That is a regrown tail! :D

He's so cute!! He looks like a boy too, with his big chunky head :)
My leo came to me with a regenerated tail as well. I love it, it's so soft and pretty! It's funny though, I didn't realise it was regenerated until I'd had her for quite some time, and started to wonder why all the other leos I saw had different-looking tails...

Nice pick up Leah. Good luck with him.

Look how cute the big fella is!
He may be a bit on the heavy side, I have never seen hanging jowls before. My big fatty male has a huge head and is a tad too heavy but no hanging turkey neck thingy.
I like Toe, so glad she let you take him...I am sure he will be very happy with you :)
