    BEL or pied...?
I know this is a very general question that has lots of factors, but how much could one expect to pay for a BEL or pied? I am just infatuated with the both of them, and am going to start saving to get one of the two. Price will probably be the deciding factor.
I would prefer male and I have no intentions to breed, so I don't care what genetics they might be carrying.

It depends If you go with a Super Mojave (will have the "dirty" head) your lookin just under 1000. A "Clean" BEL (Mojave x butter or something like it) your looking at 1000. Pieds have dropped so depending on the quality and amount of white your lookin at between 600-900ish

Raverthug said it well. I would go with a nice male pied, although I love BELs I think there is a little more to look at with a pied and you could save a good chunk of change versus buying a BEL. If you were to breed a male BEL would be very beneficial in the long run.

    I just bought a male lesser/mojave BEL for 1000.

I have seen prices for Pied vary on level of white from 700-1500 or so.

I have seen some truly lovely BELs for about $2000
"One day" I dream of having a BEL, but I think my chances of getting a pied are a bit better.
BELs and pieds are my favorite morphs as well, but my husband would bury my body in the backyard if I paid that much money for any single animal other than a horse (he's not particularly crazy about my interest in snakes and the pieds I've found range from $700-$1200). So my devious little plan is to slowly build my collection to include a Lesser, a Mojave, and two het pieds and try to breed my own. While I know that those animals will be expensive, it will be viewed differently as the money's going out over time instead of in one lump sum. I also view it as the beginning of an incredibly interesting and lovely hobby involving beloved pets.

Thanks! I think that when it comes time to buy, if I can find a BEL for under 1000 it was meant to be. If not, I'll go for a pied.

If you ever plan on breeding I would invest in a female bel personally.... they are going to be powerful with anything you breed to her. I see the potential in pieds dwindleing personally

Since the prices are pretty close, I would get the one you want the most. You will be happier in the long run.

Are you thinking about breeding? If you are look at what will fit into your projects best and what you will need first. If not get what you like the look of the best. This way you wont regret and play the what if game.

I don't know about that. Pieds are still a recessive gene, and recessives hold their value pretty well. And things like the dreamsicle aren't exactly common yet. ;)
