Help!!! Eating emergency

I don't know if this is a problem or not, my snake is going into shed and I fed her but she isn't seeing well. She has taken over an hour to try to find the head, I figured I would turn the lights off and let her go at it. I came back about 45 min later and she is trying to eat it sideways. It is in half and it looks like it is too big, it also kind of exploded... Should I just let her keep going???

Well never mind, she spit it out.... now the joy of cleaning this up.

I always keep a jar of Vick's VapoRub on hand to rub under my nose when occasions such as ruptures or regurges occur. That way, I don't really smell it. :puke2:

Ruptures can be caused by over heating (partially cooking the stomach) try lower heat next time. I also never bother to feed during shed a skipped meal or two will not bother a snake.

I'm almost positive it wasn't over heating because the rupture didn't happen until about an hour and a half of her trying. I think she was just constricting so hard trying to eat it. She is fine now tho, but from all the effort she tore some of her shed. Poor girl

I don't agree with not feeding while in shed. It's all about the snake and it's preference. If the snake will eat during shed, then by all means feed it. If not then don't bother. My girl is a great eater and will eat right through a shed unless it's the last couple days before she sheds.

She has never had a problem eating during a shed. I think this was just a one time weird occurrence.
