    Dry Skin?
I was looking holding my little scaled kids and noticed what appeared to be dry looking scales like the ones on my Mojave's head that's pictured. I was curious if this is some how common, and should I put cocoa butter on them daily for moisture. ;)

It's tough to see in the pic for me, but I'm pretty sure I know what you're seeing. It's more than likely nothing, just watch your humidity levels and you'll have nothing to worry about :)

sometimes it can be urine as well. When the urine gets on their heads and dries it can leave a white chalky substance that often looks like dried out skin.

why coco butter??? haven't heard that. glycerin, or mineral oil...or just up the humidity...maybe put coconut husk as a substrate, to hold moisture in case you're using aspin or paper or something. I wouldn't put coco butter *lol* :)

Lol @ Missy... ;-). Jk about the lotion, but thought I'd make a funny. Appreciate the comments and I'll make sure I keep up with all the levels. For bedding I've been using the forest floor since I had previous humidity issues. Thanks again all. Man I love this community here on the forums.

I use cypress in my tubs and the humidity is perfect, I just spray it down once every couple of days and the snakes seem happy. I've seen the dry scale bit before, and after misting and/or a shed, it's gone.
