Okay, so what are infractions and what do people do to get them? I've noticed that some users have "Infractions 1/0" or something like that?

Usually means someone let a cuss word slip or linked to something they shouldn't have. They are other things but those are usually it. They go away after 6 months if they've been good.

Re: Infractions
Except in cases of extreme rule-breaking...members first get a zero-point warning before they actually earn any points for infractions. You can get a warning for a minor rule issue like using a curse word or calling someone a name. And you can get a warning for putting up advertising in the wrong place on the site. Once you've been warned, if you break the rules again, you start earning points.
The first number shows how many warnings a person has...the second shows how many infractions. And if they have actual infractions, then there will be a third number in parentheses that tells how many points they have built up.
1/2 (4) --- Tells me that person has had one zero-point warning, two infractions and a total of four points.
Wouldn't "1/2" be a fraction, not a INfraction? :D

I've received three infractions..
all of them we're honest mistakes..
1. I was looking for ASF breeders in the GTA and I posted in the feeder section instead of the FOR SALE section.
2. I censored my own "foul language," instead of letting the auto censor do it for me. I was accused of trying to beat the auto censorship.. I meant to follow the rules but..
3. I posted an ad for a Leopard Gecko that I was/am trying to find a new home for. I bought the gecko off of my buddy but I copied and pasted my old Kijiji add which said I was trying to sell it for a friend. I received 5 points for this infraction.
The point of infractions is to maintain order, uniformity, organization and respect in the forums. I agree with them and appreciate them. It sucks when you get them though.. And people tend to take you less seriously when you have infractions.. :(
