I have always been interested in angolan pythons and I just started buying some up in the past couple weeks. I'm excited to start breeding these guys- I think it will be fun to breed snakes that everybody else isn't breeding. I love ball pythons and their morphs, but it's gotten to a point where I skip over a lot of tables at shows because all they have are a bunch more lessers, pieds, pastel/spider/etc combos... but when i see stuff like womas, angolans, high end lizards, etc I always stop and take a closer look.

So far I have a pair of babies to raise up and a pair of proven adults to breed next year :)

    Anyways here are some pics:

Oh and the babies in their show deli cups:

Thanks for looking! Anybody else have angolans?

I LOVE Angolan Pythons! I really want to get into breeding them in the future. There are so very few in the market right now that by the time I am in a position to start playing with them they should be taking off.. I would really like to see Angolans become a more sought after species.

    Cheers.

Any morphs at all yet with these? Kind of looks like a cross of a blood and a carpet or something? (a very leaned-out blood of course). Judging by the pics thats what I got, is that a fair comparison? What are their termperments like? Cause they're really pretty snakes.

I have heard that they can be a little meaner than ball pythons, but mine seem to have good temperaments so far. Haven't really messed with them too much yet since they are still settling in.

They are very closely related to ball pythons, as far as a comparison I guess they are kind of like a ball python / carpet python lol... they have a much leaner body than a ball python. The coolest part about them I think is their scales- they are like little beads, where a ball python has flat scales, these are more "3D" when you feel them.

They are also a little less timid than balls. They seem interested in what I am doing when I open the tub, and when I was checking them out at the show they were very active and liked to cruise around as I handled them. Certainly a lot more than a "pet rock" ;)

I don't know about any morphs so far, although I know Casey Lazik's line has been known to produce some striped animals... the 4 I have are from the houston zoo lines. The problem with angolan morphs is that nobody is out collecting them in the wild.
