    Cleaning prey prior to feeding?
Just recently acquired 2 baby balls eating live rat pups. Does anyone know of a way of cleaning, or sanitizing live rodents from the dirty pet store before feeding. Can't wait to switch them over to f/t.

Sorry, I've never cleaned live before.... anything you put on them could be harmful to your bp's...

Yea, that's what I was thinking...i was considering a quick dunk in a tub to possibly kill off or remove any mites or other hitch hikers

I agree with dragonboy; any bacteria from a gross pet store would probably preferable to cleaning products. The biggest 'contamination' concern with live rodents is internal parasites, and there's not exactly a way to wash them off...

Mites on rodents wouldn't be a threat to snakes. Snakes key into the scent of rodents, too, so if you wash them, they won't smell as appealing, lol.
