    Names in different colors?
I've noticed some people have different colored names. I know the mods and admins are green and red, but I've also seen yellow and pink and I was just curious what it meant? Tried searching it and couldn't find anything, this is purely out of curiosity lol. :)

Yellow means a person has been banned and pink means they are banned because of posting spam.

Oh, that makes sense, but how can they be online at all if they've been banned? I've seen a few names that are pink and yellow that have been on more than once?

They can probably still log in to their account, but just can't post. :) If I had to venture a guess.

Lol. I wouldn't call it spam in this context.

But no, I'm not a spy! lol. :P I've created my own forum before, and am an acting Mod on another. :gj:

A banned member can still log in, but they can't actually DO anything with the site. They'll just get "you don't have permission to do that" sort of message no matter what they do. About all they can do is fill out the "Contact Us" form.

Those names that keep popping up in pink are spammers. I believe we keep seeing those names over and over again because they're set up on some automated system that logs them into each forum they're registered to. Whoever created them in the first place probably doesn't know or care that they can't actually post anything. Danged spammers are the bane of the Internet. Worse than trolls, in my opinion.

now i have to ask: what exactly is a troll? is that somebody that just rips apart everybody's statements or argues with everybody?

    1. troll
One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument

    ^^^What she said. :P

Some people are quick to call "troll" just because they don't like what someone has to say, or because someone is less than diplomatic in their posting style. But a real troll is there to intentionally cause trouble, either out of some sense of spite, or merely for their own entertainment. They are actually pretty rare creatures.
