When to put my SPIDER MALE in to BREED??
    Whats up everyone?

I want to breed my male Spider to my female normal! I have a few people that will buy the hatchling from me and Im hoping to get a female from the clutch! But my question is: When do u guys recommend to put them together? :D

I have read that a lot of you guys have started putting your breeders together...and others say they wait til now to do so!! Is their a good schedule I can follow so I can get some locing up BPs?

everybody has their own opinion on this. some ppl have started already, some are about to start, some will wait. from what i understand november to march is breeding season so anywhere in there works. it really all depends on if you and your snakes are ready for it.

Last year was my first year breeding and I waited until the end of December. I had the intention of starting to cool my snakes mid October last year but we had heat waves and cooling wasn't consistent. This year its been better so I just started pairing some of my experienced breeding males this last week and have already seen 3 locks. My younger males that will be breeding this season I'm gonna wait until end of December and give them a little more growing time. If your snakes are of decent size you should be ok either way. Good luck.

Should I put him in with my female or put my female in with him? :D

I would move the male to the female personally. I'm just starting this year myself, but I've always been told to avoid moving the female whenever possible so you don't add any unnecessary stress to the situation... Good luck!

I put my males in the female's tub. I'm not sure why it's done that way, but it works, and that's what majority of breeders do.

I would agree that you should wait til he sheds. I also move my males to the females. I don't want to stress the females if I can help it. I boys in with the girls and periodically check for locks. Boys are in for 3 days and out for 4. I rotate to other females following this routine, I also offer food on the off days. Also, if (when) you get locks, try to minimize interuptions. Take a picture or 2 then leave them alone to get it on.

Someone emailed this to me from WoBP. I didn't make it. Of course you do have some 'wiggle' room depending on how you want to do things.
