How to Bathe a Boa?
So I just got back from the Kitchener Reptile Expo, and I have adopted a pair of Pastel BCI's. They are my very first Boa's and I am very excited to have them!! However, they made a mess on themselves on the way home.
I was wondering if I should bathe them? Or wipe them down with a warm cloth? The male has some stuck shed on his neck, so I thought a bath might help with that. The only thing is, I've never bathed a snake...
Any help would be appreciated! Thank You!

damp paper towel and rub them down softly. when i use to get new corns i would have a tub with luke warm water and place them in there for a few minutes.

So, if I wanted to bathe them, would a sweater tub be large enough? And what would be the ideal temp- I have a temp gun so I can check, would 90 degrees be warm enough? And is 10 minutes a long enough soak? They are pretty big..

that temp would be ideal. i would say 10 -15 would be fine....

I frequently stick my boa's in the bathtub for soaks actually. My Colombian loves water, his is usually around 90 degrees, and he loves it. Yet my Central American and Colombian cross, has to have about 80's in order for him to deal with it. Soometimes he will jsut try to get out as quickly as possible. But its always good to soak the boa for a few minutes, to see if they have mites or anything come off as well. Also helps rehydrate them.
Congrats on your new boa's though! I'm a boa fan myself :)

Your welcome :) I love my BP's, don't get me wrong, but my boa's are so much more active and interesting to watch at times. My Central American is a big big baby! He was a rescue,a nd I couldn't be happier with him! I'm glad she likes the water though! My bigger male, he is constantly swimming in his water bowl, so he loves the bathtub as well :)
Enjoy!

But my Boa is the same! She gets a soak every 2 weeks and she loves it! She loves to coil up in her water dish....
