What size snakes do people have?
I'm curious what size snake people have as far as the large ones. The pet store by me had one they said was 17' and another one had an owner that said his was 20'. I'm just curious how big these guys are getting in captivity.

What species are you talking about?

And being in captivity doesn't change how large they get

I guess just snakes in general, though I'm sure retics will be the longest. Does anyone weight there anacondas? Just saw on a tv show where they caught one that weighed 103kg.

Lol, I mean i dont know the avg length of every species off the top of my head. I'd say burms get up to about 20 ft, retics anywhere between 6-20 (depending on super dwarf, dwarf, or regular) and anacondas 10-20 maybe depending on type (yellow/green).

Edit: hopefully some people that actually own some will see this and tell you what lengths their adults are.

Oh ok, well just keep in mind that being in captivity has no effect on length. Maybe heather will see this I know she has lots of burms :)

If it did I would almost think they could get bigger since they might be feed more often.

Hmm, they can only get so big, but with being fed consistently you can probably count on them to get close to their max size :gj:

Actually, in the wild the snakes don't typically reach their max sizes like they do in captivity. Sooo, in a way they are bigger in captivity, technically speaking. :D But the numbers given for the species take that into consideration and are based off of what they are capable of physically getting to.

Burms ~20 is the main one I know, but males are supposed to run a little smaller to max at around 16 on average. (Mine is creeping up on 7'. :] <3)
