Does High-white x High-white Pied = High-white offspring?

Hi, is there a relationship between the amount of white on the pied parents and their offspring or is it random? In other words, if i paired up 2 high-white pied parents, would my chances for high-white offspring be higher than if i were to pair up 2 low-white pied parents? Thanks!

I don't think it's been proven, and up until now you can have low white pieds producing high white offspring...

So far as I understand, the amount of white in pieds is random. High white to high white will still throw all different degrees of white.

I'm pretty sure that if you were to cull a breeding stock out of the unwanted low white individuals you could come up with a consistant high white breeding stock. But as to how many generations it would take take your pick, 10-100 or more and you would probably endup with a pretty shallow gene pool as well.

It's not "genetic" in the sense that you can predict it the way you can with recessive or dominant traits. High whites can make low whites and vice versa... but you'll see many breeders talking about their "high white" lines. So I think it's possible to line breed for it and increase the chances of getting what you want.

Certainly you've probably got a better chance of producing high whites from a pair of high white parents than from a pair of low whites.

EDIT: And actually, based on what I've seen from various breedings while shopping for pieds year after year, I think it really only takes a few generations to pull the high white trait out with some real consistency.

I read that piebald ASF's have been selected to be nearly 100% white. Not at all sure it would work the same with ball pythons and even if it did the much longer generation time would make it really really hard. Or you could just put lesser in all your pieds.
