    cat ate beardie..
so i came home from work today and discovered my girlfriends bearded dragon's cage's top was on the floor there was blood in the cage and no lizard in the house. It is the second horrible experience my girlfriend has had with her pet reptiles. ( first being a lizard from petco died a week after buying the lizard) but in hopes of trying to cheer her up i wanted to try to find a bearded dragon with a yellow head and an orange body i know it would cheer her up it was the original colors she was looking for i was curious if anone could help me find a beardie that color preferably younger or if someone could point me in the direction of what morphs could be that color. We will be keeping the lizards cage in the same room as my ball pythons now rather than in the living room.

Sorry for the loss, hate to say it but this was completely avoidable, which I'm sure you're aware of, but I hope this will be remembered for future pets also. Prepare for the worse case scenario, in your case, the cat getting into trouble. I hope the room your snakes are in is secure.

Either way, try browsing through kingsnake.com or faunaclassifieds.com.

Orange Fire beardies are bright orange with tanish yellow heads. Fire tigers are orange too. Hope that's what you're looking for.

Sorry to hear about the original bearded dragon.

I'm so sorry about the beardie. As LGray said this could have been avoided. I do hope you find a replacement beardie that'll make your girl happy, and make sure that darned cat stays away from it.

Did you get rid of the cat yet?

Cats have a very strong animalistic instinct, no matter how cute and fluffy they look. Owners should be aware of this and prepare accordingly, not the cats fault.

Sorry for the loss.. I worry about my other cat when I'm not in the room.. Door is always shut. All cats are predators though. The cat we let outside used to bring lizards and birds to our back door.

While preventable, I would still be upset with the cat.

Either way, there is another forum like this, but for bearded dragons. It has a large community of owners, and many people sell or adopt out over there.

    I'll send a pm shortly.

    Another cat story...

Sorry to hear! Cats don't mix with animals smaller than themselves.
