    Heating problems
So I have my het caramel hatchling ball python in a 10 gallon tank with a zoo med heating pad I also bought a digital thermomiter with a prob. Now my problem is that the thermomiter would say its around 90 then go up to 107 around there so I disconnnected it. is there a way to to maintain the tem in the cage and also when I put my hand around where the prop is it dosent even feel that hot any reccomendations or tips would be greatly aprriciated cause the last thing I want is to come home from school and find my baby ball python burnd up :( thanks.

You need to get a thermostat to control the heat pad.

X2 on the thermostat. You will burn the snake without one, and it needs to have the heating mat to be warm and properly digest it's food.

if you can't afford a thermostat get a dimmer switch they are like $10 and homedepot you have to constantly check it though cuz they don't regulate the temp just the amount of power... This is what I use for my corn snakes cage and it works ok I just check it like every day to make sure the temp is where it should be

If you're on a budget for a cheap thermostat and don't want a dimmer, check out a hydrofarm on amazon for ~$24. It's pretty good for the price and your single mat.
