Critter Ate My Thermostat
So a Guinea Pig that had been escaping nightly and returning to its home in the day chewed the probe wire for one of my thermostats. I had a backup so the snakes are good. However, I am by no means a wiring expert. I can do a basic repair of messed up power cords but I need to know if the same techniques can be used. If not, what can I do?
Thanks.

Oh that's great! I see there is a replacement that's $20 + shipping.
I'd still like to know the answer though. I can afford a new probe today but just in case I didn't have the spare cash for it I'd like to know if a repair is feasible.
Thanks again!

I've repaired chewed probe wires for thermometers before, but they never read quite right again, so I wouldn't take the chance on something as important as a thermostat.

Thanks guys.
I ended up just ordering a replacement since it was affordable and apparently not a risky. Should be here tomorrow.
